It will never hold. That's what some experts thought when Günter Behnisch and his partners submitted their tent roof design to the 1967 architectural competition for the Olympic Park. But they didn't. And yet it held. On our two-hour park tour, our guides tell us everything about the success story of this construction, about planning and realisation, about twelve pylons, 8,300 acrylic glass panels, 74,800 square metres of surface and 137,000 nodes. All quite impressive.
Please note that the Olympic Stadium will be closed from October 2025 due to renovation work and therefore no tours or visits will be possible. Duration of the refurbishment measures: estimated 20 months.
